🐶 Royal Rescue: Meet Moley, Queen Camilla’s New Canine Companion
A new royal tail is wagging its way into the spotlight—meet Moley, the latest rescue dog welcomed by Queen Camilla. Adopted from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Moley is a sprightly Jack Russell with a big heart and an even bigger new home.
This isn’t Queen Camilla’s first time offering a second chance to a rescue pup. Moley joins her other beloved Jack Russells, Bluebell and the late Beth, while King Charles’s dog, Snuff, rounds out the royal pack. All four dogs’ names will now be permanently celebrated in the RHS and BBC Radio 2 Dog Garden, an innovative and heartfelt feature of this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Designed by gardening icon Monty Don, the garden is more than just a nod to the nation’s love of horticulture—it’s a dedicated space for our four-legged friends. With safe shaded zones, soft grassy banks and pet-safe planting, the garden celebrates the joy dogs bring to our lives. It also highlights the importance of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming—values close to Queen Camilla’s heart through her patronage of Battersea.
Once the Chelsea Flower Show comes to an end, the entire garden will be lovingly relocated to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home itself, giving rescue dogs a royal garden in which to relax and play.
Moley’s story is a reminder that even the smallest dog can find a place in the grandest of homes—and that adoption is always a noble act. As Queen Camilla continues to champion rescue dogs, Moley is sure to become a cherished member of both the royal family and the public’s heart.
