Raw feeders need freezers!

Fact: your freezer becomes your best friend when feeding a raw diet.

Freezing is great! It’s nature’s own (and best) preserver. Freezing hardly reduces nutritional value and there are no health risks associated with the process. The process brings food temperature down to at least minus 18 degrees, cold enough to kill off harmful parasites. It is the best natural preservative – reinforcing our belief in not adding any preservatives to Poppy’s Picnic.

Raw feeders quickly realise that the amount they order is about how much storage you have, rather then just how much food their pet needs. We can deliver weekly if necessary to fill one small freezer draw and with our subscription that is super easy. Some people chose to track down a second freezer and stash it in the shed, garage, understair cupboard or basement… anywhere it will fit!

And you don’t have to pay out loads for a new freezer to store your frozen dog food. Here are some ideas:

• Ask around: your friends, family or neighbours may have one they no longer need
• Look on eBay or Gumtree: many bargains to be had!
• Look on local community Facebook trading pages: people are giving away all sorts
• Look on Freecycle, Freegle, Trash Nothing and other sites
