FAQ: What's the yellow tinge in your packs

If you notice a slight yellow tone in the tray, that'll be the turmeric (the spice that gives curry its yellow colour). The reason you can see it is because we don't add stabilisers which are used in many products to prevent pack staining.

Turmeric has been used in India for thousands of years as both a spice for food and medicinal herb. Recently, science has started to back up claims that turmeric contains compounds with beneficial properties*. The most important one is curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, which is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Antioxidants can help neutralise free radicals. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory and may lower the risk of heart disease. Curcumin has also been studied as a beneficial herb in cancer treatment and been found to affect cancer growth and development.
